NEXT PARTY - FRANK BOOKER (Hit It & Quit It - NZ)

As a seasonal change from the tropical disco heat of PMJs last party, on 7th August we will be escaping the cold and bunkering down in the warm, cosy surrounds of the Civic Underground as part of Future Classics “Adult Disco” series of winter bashes.
To warm the cockles of your deeply musical hearts, we will be installing Recloose’s right hand man in NZ, FRANK BOOKER behind the controls and letting him drop some house and disco bombs on what’s arguably Sydney finest sound systems.
Emerging from the shadows at the beginning of 2009, Frank was first signed to boutique London record label, Untracked Recordings and released the 'Brothers EP', featuring 3 choice cuts, which marked him out as an artist to watch, gaining record of the week status at Piccadilly Records UK, and also rocketing to the top of the sales charts on Juno Records.
The follow up, 'Paper Cuts' b/w 'Get On' cemented his growing reputation and led to remixes alongside Recloose for Latin Grammy winners Los Amigos Invisibles (Lovemonk Records, Spain), and Based on Kyoto (Japan).
Frank's records have been supported by scene heavyweights such as Ashley Beedle, Todd Terje, Mark E, Tim Sweeney (Beats in Space / DFA), The Revenge, and DJ Day amongst others.
All of this brought the elusive Frank to the attention of one Kenji Sakajiri, the A&R man for esteemed Japanese Record label, Wonderful Noise.
Kenji instantly signed Frank for a special limited edition Mix CD (Out on the Super Limited edition BlackBelt label), and a Double EP to follow in August, 2010.
The EPs will feature remixes by Mark E (Jisco/Under The Shade), Kez YM (YORE) and Cosmic Boogie, with undertaking Frank a DJ Tour of Japan to promote the release in September, 2010.
Frank also co-hosts the highly acclaimed ‘Hit It & Quit It’ radio show alongside Recloose. Hosted every Monday night on George FM (Auckland, New Zealand) and the show has become one of the station’s most popular, and been signed for syndication on legendary Japanese radio station, Shibuya FM.
The pair also co-host a regular clubnight based on the radio show. Thus far, 'The Hit It & Quit It Revue' has featured guest performances from the likes of Dam Funk (Stones Throw), Julien Dyne (BBE), Trus'me (Fat City). The revue also were booked to play Mad Rackets closing party at the Hyde Park Barracks as part of the 2010 Sydney Festival.
As a DJ, Frank's music spans a wide array of quality Black dance music: From deepest Disco, to 80's boogie and quality modern house, as well as some super special re-edits all put together with a focus firmly on the dancers.
Supporting Frank on the night will be PMJ’s very own Matt Trousdale and Pete Dot.
Limited pre-sale tickets are $10 via Resident Advisor as of Wednesday 7th July. Or $15 on the door prior to midnight and $20 thereafter. Drinks specials are also available pre midnight so get down early so save yourself some dough.
The Civic Underground is located unsurprisingly in the basement level, corner of Goulburn and Pitt Streets, City.
So get down to get down!

Trus'Me party update - times, venue etc
(Music) lovers,
With only a shade over 2 weeks to the party, a few more details to note:
Our guest of honour Trus’me will be playing for 3 hrs minimum, laying down his trademark DEEP, SOULFUL and BASS HEAVY soundtrack.
We have sourced a rather fine (and little used) intimate BASEMENT venue “The Manhattan Lounge” (formerly Wine Banq) for the party. Its address is 50 Elizabeth Street, City – about 2 mins walk from Martin Place station.
We will be kicking things off around 10pm and going til 4 (or later!)
We will be bringing in a nice rotary mixer and the sound and light tweaked accordingly for maximum LOVE action.
There’s well priced booze in the form of $5 Carlton’s, $5 house wines and $11 cocktails, other imported beers / fancy stuff is also reasonably priced.
It’s a dress up theme around the theme of LOVE or failing that, try to wear something RED!
For those few brave souls coming from Goodvibes , you’ll have to put some long trousers on and chuck a pair of sneakers on – shorts or thongs are a no-no im afraid (apparently they do have some standards!)
Hopefully the above update has satiated your appetite for a night of quality music, in a great venue with lovely people. To secure your space on the dancefloor, simply hit up the tickets link on the right hand side of this page and avoid paying more on the door, or worse still being locked out!
Hit us up at peoplemustjam@gmail.com for industry tiks, group bookings etc.
Big love PMJ!

Hello (music) lovers,
We have big and exciting news in that we are throwing a Valentines party on the 13th Feb, with the amazingly talented Trus'me of Prime Numbers / Fat City / Stilove4music records. It will go from 9pm til late at that most mysterious of places "an inner city venue TBC".
This will be the official Sydney album launch for his second Album "In The Red" - which is out in the coming days and features collabs with the likes of Amp Fiddler, Dam Funk, Paul Randolph (Jazzanova) and Piranha Head (Mahogani Music). Check it out at the link below!
http://www.fatcityrecordings.com/fcr/homeRelease.php?rid=161
Providing emotional support on the night will be People Must Jams own musical match makers Matt Trousdale, Pete Dot and James Weirick.
To make sure all the heads are on board for this, and to show were the sensitive, loving, caring types, were offering some super cheap first release tickets at a stupidly low price of $15 (see the "buy now" link on this page), so you can snag one for your loved one, partner, mistress or whoever you care about most and start planning an outfit around the theme of "love" or "red". See you for a few slow dances under the lights in a few weeks time!
Big love – PMJ!
